... Release Date:Â Â 05-Sep-2008 Bristol City Council's Energy Management Unit has submitted a planning application to erect two wind turbines as part of the scheme to promote renewable energy. The application is for the erection of two wind turbines (each with a generating capacity of up to 3MW) with maximum tip height of 131m, rotor diameter of 92m and hub height of 85m, a control and switchgear/metering building, cabling, access tracks both permanent and temporary (for construction, hard standing areas, temporary storage compound and access to the A403, including minor off site highway improvements to the A403. The application will be considered by the planning committee. Anyone wishing to view or comment on it can find the details on the city council's website, www.bristol.gov.uk/planning.
